Frequently Asked Questions
Capital Tours is happy to answer your questions.
Question: Are all your tours prepackaged?
Answer: Your class trip will be designed by our staff to meet your specifications from the length of your stay to the specific sites you wish to visit.
Question: Will someone from Capital Tours be with us while on the trip?
Answer: Your group will be met by a Capital Tours, Inc. representative, who is assigned
to your group from arrival at your destination until departure.
Question: Do you provide chaperones to supervise the students at night?
Answer: Private security guards, usually off-duty police officers, are hired to relieve your
chaperones each night the group is on tour.
Question: What kind of buses do you use?
Answer: We hire only deluxe, 55 passenger motor coaches, air-conditioned with lavatory
facilities.
Question: What does the tour cost include?
Answer: The tour cost includes full use of the motor coach, all meals as outlined in the
itinerary, all fees, admissions, taxes and tips in hotels and restaurants, and the services of
guides and escorts. The only things that are not included would be money for souvenirs
or snacks.
Question: What should students bring with them in terms of clothing, cameras, etc.?
Answer: During the day students should wear very casual clothing and very comfortable
shoes. For dinner theater presentations, dance cruises, or for those students laying a
wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a somewhat dressier outfit would be
appropriate. For students using a 35mm camera, extra film should be packed as it can be
expensive while on tour. A rain jacket or umbrella should also be packed in case of
inclement weather.
Question: What hotels do you use?
Answer: We use hotels/motels from Sheraton, Marriott, Holiday Inn, Best Western, and
Comfort Inns depending on the group’s requirements. Students are housed on a quad
occupancy basis, double occupancy for adults.
Question: How can I purchase travel protection?
Answer: See this page for further details.
